Congrats, bro, on your move to Chicago.  Well wishes from the Oklahomans, and I look forward to visiting sometime.

House on the Mustang Praire

We just met Scott and Deana at their house in Mustang.  What a nice house….what a nice neighborhood….way to go Scott and Deana.  Scott has done very well in obtaining his first house.

KCMO

We are here in Kansas City for two nights.  Tomorrow to the Royals game. The Plaza looks the same.  The town is very green.  It must have rained all summer.  Hopefully breakfast on Saturday with some Glow's or maybe former Glow's.

In Missouri

We are wrapping up our visit to Columbia, MO.  We have hit all the high spots, ie…3 bookstores, a vegetarian cafe where a niece works, a bread store that serves sandwiches, and a play.  Typical Columbia.  For those that don't know this university town, it is LIBERAL, granola, and not bashful about telling you so.  Texas license plates don't fit in very well, thanks to George W.

Today Kathy and Noah are going to Sedalia to accompany Aunt Jane.  Jane and Deirk, another musician, are singing to 180 pre-school kids.  I am taking a pass on that venture.  Tomorrow we are off to Kansas City for two nights.

Nice hotel in Columbia, MO

We saw a cute play at the University of Missouri that Aunt Jane sang and played. It was fun and a nice gift from Jane.  Thanks Jane.  We are staying at the Marriott Courtyard and it is very nice.  We will be here for four nights.

It's always great to see the nephews, nieces, brother and sister-in laws.  Columbia is a nice town to visit.  We go to Kansas City from here with the highlight being the Royals game and the sunken steamboat museum.  Noah is a good traveler and is enjoying himself.  He spent the night with friends, Bo and Sherry and family, in Rogers, Arkansas, while we were at the wedding.  Noah has a sore shoulder from play WII tennis.

After K.C. we will head to O.K.C.  Stay tuned.

On the way to Fort Smith

We have stopped for the evening at a motel right next to an outlet mall at Gainesville, TX.  The car hadn't stopped rolling when Kathy and Noah were in the mall.  According to Mrs. Shopper 2008 half the stores are closed and the other half seem to be getting ready to close.  This is an outlet mall that caters to the tourist traffic on I-35.  Gainesville is a small town with no other towns close by.  I have a feeling Americans are not driving past this mall like they used to.  On to Arkansas tomorrow.

Awesome names

I've run into some awesome names lately.  The link below chronicles the name of a 9 year old girl named Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii.  No kidding, I had to include the link since it is so odd.  I also got some documents at work this week that showed an employee's name of William Buffalomeat.  Wow.  Peace

Don’t plan a trip

during hurricane season.  We are leaving for Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma Thursday which is the same time Hurricane Dolly is supposed to hit South Texas.  This could get interesting.

Interesting claim

My insured is a salvage yard that tears cars apart to sell the parts.  The car's body was in half, with the back half of the vehicle missing except for the wheels and frame.  The three witnesses said that the car started by itself, lurched forward, and damaged another employee's brand new $2000 Snap-On tool box.  This guy had made one payment on the tool box.  I called a friend who works at another salvage yard, and he said he's seen similar strange stuff.  He said the radio came on itself and started playing when no one was in the car.  He later discovered that the amp stored power and went off for no reason.  I wonder if he discovered that Jurgen Suuck, Olaruth Ruth, and Roger Rogers have awesome names.  Peace
